Guiligan’s Island Ferry

Guilgan’s Island is a small island of  coral and mangrove and its beaches are a popular destination for local young people.  The island is part of the Dry Forest Preserve and the number of visitors on any one day is limited. On weekends, particularly when school is out, cars line up early for tickets.  At other times the competition is less frantic and access is straight forward.  The cost is six or seven dollars. The ferry landing is a five minute walk from Casa Alejada.  (down hill going).  When the island is full, or closed for other reasons, Punta Ballena is an alternate destination for the ferry.
