The low cliff you see in the picture shelters the bay.  The beach has a steep drop off.  There is  little surf but some swell.  The bottom is clean.  It is perfect for people who want to swim rather than just walk at the water’s edge.   There is a reef a hundred yards or so off shore but, since I swim alone, I have never chosen to investigate it.
